What is Sculptra Aesthetic?
Sculptra is a bio-stimulatory injectable cosmetic treatment that is carefully formulated to stimulate prolonged collagen production. Sculptra contains PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) and when injected into the dermis our bodies respond by steadily producing collagen, this works to correct volume and skin appearance, making it the prefect recontouring tool.
Collagen is vital in diminishing any signs of ageing. Collagen provides the skin with elastic properties and strength, but over time our natural stores of collagen decrease for many reasons: sun exposure, ageing and a high sugar intake.
When collagen formation slows our skin loses its glow, plumpness so wrinkles begin to form. Sculptra can also be used to overcome any bone deficits in the face by targeting deep dermal layers which will help you regain facial volume and radiance so you can achieve a naturally lifted and sculpted appearance.
A common misconception is that we only lose volume due to ageing, but we can also lose the fulness in our skin from excessive sun exposure, fat loss, smoking and various medical conditions. If you want to tighten your skin and get its youthful appearance back, then Sculptra is the treatment for you.
Can Sculptra be used to combat cellulite?
Sculptra is an excellent, non-invasive alternative to surgery if you want to get rid of cellulite. 80% of women have cellulite and it is predetermined by our genetics, this means it is impossible to get rid of it completely even with regular exercise and a healthy diet.
The other options for cellulite removal include invasive surgeries that are very expensive and have a long recovery period. Collagen restoration works the same way on both the face and body, so when cellulite dimples are injected with Sculptra it works on a molecular level to reactivate collagen development which replenishes any lost volume in the body.
This luxurious treatment is loved by countless celebrities when they want to naturally diminish cellulite because of it is non-surgical, non-invasive nature that helps you get smooth and supple skin safely.
What is the procedure during Sculptra?
Before each procedure you will have a consultation with your aesthetician so can communicate your desired results and they can provide you with advice and answer any of your questions. Make sure to book a free consultation today at Hannah London today.
Our trained aestheticians will clean the skin to remove any excess makeup, dirt and debris. After the skin has been cleared, we follow on with a numbing agent to make sure your treatment is pain free and you feel very comfortable. The doctor will then mark the areas which will be injected.
After a deep clean your doctor will proceed to carefully inject the Sculptra with a fine-guage needle in the marked areas. The Sculptra is injected at different directions to form a widespread, supportive lattice under the skin surface. This web will provide the necessary foundation that is strong enough to support the gradual formation of collagen.
Once the injection phase is completed, the aesthetician will gently massage the skin in order to evenly distribute the Sculptra molecules across the face and body and avoid any unwanted clumping. Patients are also required to carry on the massaging process for five days after the treatment.

How often do I need to get a Sculptra treatment?
We recommended initially receiving three treatments with a four-week gap between each one. This will help to kickstart the repair phase and allow your body to start independently producing collagen.
After the first three courses of treatments, you can then follow this up with one treatment a year to maintain your desired results. It is important to note that each
person produces a different amount of collagen post-procedure, so each person will require a different number of treatments.
After your first Sculptra procedure you and your aesthetician will gain a clear picture of how many more treatments you will require to maintain the optimal results. With annual upkeep these results will remain for 5-10 years.
When will I see results after a Sculptra treatment and how long do they last?
The magic of Sculptra is that the results improve overtime and can last up to 2 years depending on the person. The results take a few weeks to start forming due to the nature of
the treatment, which relies more on the body’s natural response to the injectable opposed to filling it and seeing instant results.
Are there any side effects of getting a Sculptra treatment and does it hurt?
Patients have a choice in the use of a numbing agent to stop any pain but there is a possibility you may feel some slight discomfort however, this will not last very long. There may be some slight swelling and bruising for 2-3 days after.
A very rare side effect is the formation of small lumps, but this only occurs if the product is applied to close to the epidermis, our aestheticians are highly trained, so this side-effect is very uncommon.
The downtime is also very minimal so you can instantly return to your work and home commitments.
