Treatment Explained
Botox treatment for erectile dysfunction in London
Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is a very common concern, which particularly effects men over the age of 40. Symptoms include inability to get an erection or difficulty sustaining an erection during sex. Common causes include stress, tiredness and alcohol consumption.
Frequent erectile dysfunction can be caused by certain medications or underlying medical issues such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, hormone issues and mental health concerns. That is why the NHS recommends that you should see your GP if erectile dysfunction keeps occurring.
Well-known treatments for this issue include lifestyle changes and oral medications such as Viagra or Cialis. However, botox is an emerging, clinically tested treatment for this common issue, which can help to relax the smooth muscles of the penis and improve blood flow, to enhance erections for up to six months.
At our Harley Street and Colindale, London clinics, we offer botox treatment for erectile dysfunction to help you regain your confidence and vitality.
You will experience your treatment at one of our luxurious, award-winning London aesthetic clinics, led by Dr Kaywaan Khan.

Botox for ED
treatment benefits
Botox is renowned for its use in aesthetic treatments, most commonly for relaxing the facial muscles associated with dynamic wrinkles. Botox is also used as a medical treatment for conditions such as chronic migraine and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Botox for erectile dysfunction (ED) is often referred to as ‘Bocox’. This is an emerging treatment that has shown efficacy in clinical trials for improving erectile function, particularly in men who do not respond to conventional oral medications such as Viagra or Cialis.
When making a comparison of botox vs traditional erectile dysfunction medications, one of the principal benefits of this treatment is its long-lasting effects. Increased penile blood flow can continue for up to six months, whereas oral medications are intended to be used ‘on demand’.
-
Improved penile blood flow
Botox causes the relaxation of specific muscles within the penis shaft, which improves blood flow and makes it easier to achieve and maintain an erection.
-
Enhanced erection duration and firmness
By enabling improved blood flow, Botox treatment can lead to firmer and longer-lasting erections.
-
Long-lasting effects
The benefits of treatment with Botox for erectile dysfunction can last for up to six months. This enables a greater degree of spontaneity when compared to on-demand oral medications.
-
Minimally invasive treatment with no downtime
The treatment is administered at one of our London clinics in Harley Street or Colindale and takes less than 30 minutes. There is no downtime, so you can continue with your normal daily activities immediately after.
-
Improved confidence and quality of life
The effects of Botox treatment for erectile dysfunction can boost confidence, improve intimate relationships, and enhance overall quality of life.

The team at Hannah London were discreet, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Within two weeks of treatment, I noticed significantly improved erectile function and stronger, longer-lasting erections. The fact that the results last for months rather than hours has been life-changing. If you are looking for a long-lasting ED treatment in London, I highly recommend this clinic.

I was initially sceptical about Botox treatment for erectile dysfunction, but after researching clinical studies and booking a consultation on Harley Street, I felt reassured. The procedure was quick, virtually painless and there was no downtime. Over the following week, I experienced improved blood flow and much firmer erections. The confidence boost has been incredible, both personally and in my relationship. For anyone searching for a non-surgical ED treatment in London with longer-lasting results, this is an excellent option.
Adrian Cole
Botox for ED has genuinely restored my confidence. I wanted an alternative to on-demand medication like Cialis and was interested in a treatment that improved erectile function more naturally. The Botox injections helped relax the smooth muscle and increase penile blood flow, resulting in improved erection quality and duration. The results lasted close to six months for me. Professional, discreet and effective – I would strongly recommend Botox for erectile dysfunction at Hannah London.
The science behind
Botox for erectile dysfunction
The smooth muscles in the penis, located in the corpus cavernosum – one of the two spongey columns of tissue that run through the shaft of the penis – control erectile function by alternating between a constricted state (flaccid) and a relaxed state (erect). When these muscles are relaxed, blood flows into the corpus cavernosum, causing rigidity.
Injections of botulinum toxin type A, or botox, block the nerve impulses sent to the vessel walls, which are normally in a constricted state. This temporarily relaxes the smooth muscles, thereby significantly increasing blood flow, helping to improve and enhance erections.
Whilst botox for ED is an emerging treatment, clinical trials have shown it to be a safe and highly effective approach, especially in men for whom conventional oral medications such as Viagra and Cialis are unsuitable or undesirable.

-
What is erectile dysfunction (ED)?
Erectile dysfunction (ED), sometimes referred to as impotence, is difficulty in achieving or maintaining an erection during sex. It is very common and can affect men at any age, although it becomes more prevalent over 40. ED may occur occasionally or become persistent, with severity ranging from mild to more significant difficulties.
-
What causes ED?
Common causes include stress, fatigue, anxiety and alcohol. Medical conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, hormonal imbalance and cardiovascular disease may also contribute, as can certain medications. Mental health factors such as depression and anxiety are also common contributors. Persistent symptoms should always be assessed by a medical professional.
-
Does Botox help with erectile dysfunction?
Botox treatment for ED, sometimes referred to as ‘Bocox’, involves injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin type A into the corpora cavernosa — the two columns of erectile tissue within the penis. This helps relax smooth muscle tissue, improving blood flow and supporting stronger, longer-lasting erections.
-
How does Botox work for erectile dysfunction?
Botox temporarily blocks certain nerve signals that keep smooth muscle constricted. When these muscles relax, blood flow into the penis increases, making it easier to achieve and maintain an erection.
-
Is Botox safe for treating erectile dysfunction?
Botox is widely used for medical conditions such as chronic migraine and hyperhidrosis. When administered by an experienced medical practitioner, Botox for ED is considered safe. Clinical studies demonstrate safety and efficacy, particularly in men who have not responded well to oral medications such as Viagra or Cialis. All treatments at Hannah London follow a full medical consultation.
-
Who can have Botox for erectile dysfunction?
This treatment may be suitable for men who experience ongoing ED, have not achieved satisfactory results with oral medications, or are seeking a longer-lasting, non-daily solution. Suitability is confirmed during consultation after reviewing your medical history.
-
What is the treatment like?
The procedure involves a series of small injections into the corpora cavernosa. It is performed at our London clinics in Harley Street or Colindale and typically takes 15–30 minutes.
-
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients report minimal discomfort. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and a very fine needle is used. Any mild discomfort resolves quickly.
-
How long does Botox for ED take to work?
Optimal results typically develop within one to two weeks as blood flow improves.
-
How long do the results last?
The effects can last up to six months, depending on the individual response to treatment.
-
Will I need repeat treatments?
Repeat treatments may be recommended every six months to maintain results. Your practitioner will advise based on your individual response.
-
Is there any downtime after treatment?
There is minimal to no downtime. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
-
Are there any side-effects?
Side-effects are generally mild and temporary. These may include minor swelling, bruising at the injection site, or temporary discomfort.
-
Does Botox treatment for ED increase penis size?
Botox for erectile dysfunction is not a penile enlargement treatment. However, by improving blood flow and firmness, some men may feel erections appear enhanced.
-
Will Botox for ED affect sensation or orgasm?
Botox treatment does not typically affect penile sensation or orgasm. It works by improving blood flow and erectile function.
-
Does Botox for erectile dysfunction affect urination?
The treatment targets erectile tissue only and does not affect the urethra or bladder. It should not interfere with normal urination.
-
How does Botox compare to Viagra or Cialis?
Unlike oral medications taken on demand, Botox provides longer-lasting results for up to six months and allows greater spontaneity. It may benefit men who do not respond well to tablets or prefer not to take medication before intimacy.
-
What are the benefits and risks of Botox for ED?
Benefits include improved erectile function, results lasting 3–6 months, and no downtime. Risks are minimal and side-effects are typically mild and temporary when performed by a qualified medical professional.
-
