Treatment Explained

Botox for under eye
wrinkles and lines

As we age, the elasticity of our skin naturally decreases.

Because the skin around our eyes is more delicate than other areas of the face, it can be more susceptible to developing wrinkles and lines caused by repetitive expression over time.

Small amounts of botox gently relax the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines. This gives the under eye area a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Botox for under eye wrinkles and lines is available in Harley Street and Colindale, London, at one of our luxurious, award-winning aesthetic clinics, led by Dr Kaywaan Khan.

Botox for under eye
wrinkles and lines

  • Reduction of under eye wrinkles and lines

The delicate, thinner skin around the eyes can be more prone to showing the signs of ageing and the ‘dynamic’ lines and wrinkles that appear when we smile, laugh and squint.
Carefully targeted botox injections into the muscles that surrounds the eye can inhibit the repetitive muscle activity that cause these lines. This has a smoothing effect on the eye area, so that it looks refreshed and rejuvenated.

  • Smooth out crow’s feet

By carefully targeting small amounts of botox around the eye area, both the lines and wrinkles that form under the eyes, and those at the sides called crow’s feet, can be visibly reduced.

  • Treatment combination

Botox for under eye wrinkles and lines is often used in conjunction with other hyaluronic acid-based treatments such as dermal fillers and skin boosters such as Jalupro.
Following botox treatment, dermal fillers can be used in targeted areas to plump out the skin and fill any deeper lines. This further enhances the rejuvenation of the eye area.
Our Jalupro-Tox treatment combines Jalupro skin booster with small doses of botox. This has a tightening and hydrating effect on the skin.

The science behind botox for
under eye wrinkles and lines

The area of skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than other areas of the face. This means that the lines that form here from dynamic facial expression, such as smiling and squinting, can become deeper and more noticeable. This can have an ageing effect.

The orbicularis oculi muscle, which surrounds the eye, is responsible for the contractions that cause lines and wrinkles in the eye area. When botulinum toxin, or botox, is carefully injected into the orbicularis oculi muscle, the repetitive activity that causes these lines is relaxed, which has a smoothing effect in the skin.

Dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with botox to further augment the rejuvenating effect. This is achieved by plumping out the skin and filling any deeper lines or folds.
