Treatment Explained
Back facial London
A back facial is a relaxing treatment that targets an often-neglected part of the body: the back.
This comforting treatment has many benefits, not least that the massage releases endorphins and eases muscle tension.
Our backs deserve care and attention, so we have developed the back facial to cleanse, exfoliate, purify, and moisturise the overlooked skin on our backs.
This hard-to-reach area is prone to breakouts, blackheads and dry skin, therefore each step in our back facial treatment is designed to target these issues. Is it time to show your back some love?
We offer back facials in Harley Street and Colindale, London. You’ll have your treatment at one of our luxurious, award-winning aesthetic clinics, led by Dr Kaywaan Khan.

Back facial benefits
The steps in our back facial are similar to a traditional facial, but with an emphasis on massage to release tension in this area of the body where our stress is often held.
-
Cleanse
The first part of our back facial involves an initial comforting cleanse of the skin, using hot mitts, oil and foam cleansers.
-
Massage and mask
During this step, our aesthetician will massage a clay salicylic acid mask into the skin. This step removes excess oils, exfoliates and resurfaces the skin.
-
Purify and hydrate
Our aesthetician will then use Hydrafacial suction, to further remove impurities and deeply hydrate the skin.
-
Calm
Where needed, we complete targeted manual extraction of further impurities. We then apply calming skin creams and serums to help remove any dark marks.

The science behind
back facial treatment
The back is difficult to reach effectively by ourselves and it is also an area of the body where we can hold a lot of muscle tension. As a result, the skin on our backs can be prone to blocked pores, blackheads and breakouts.
Our back facial has been designed to combine products and devices to effectively cleanse, exfoliate, massage and hydrate the skin on the back and shoulders, which can bring wide-reaching benefits.
The treatment opens pores and increases blood flow to the skin for the efficient extraction of impurities, and heightened absorption of hydrating products.
The act of massaging the back and shoulders releases endorphins. These ‘feel-good’ chemicals are produced in the brain’s pituitary gland and hypothalamus and are released during pleasurable experiences such as massage. Muscle tension is also released through massage.

Patients are encouraged to shower before the facial to encourage pores to open. You should avoid shaving immediately before the treatment to ensure your skin isn’t too sensitive.
